Moving large established plants is tough. You need to get as much of the root ball as possible, those hollies could be quite large after 15 years – or they could be manageable – depends on the variety and how big they’ve grown.
Its always risky to move plants, and it becomes more difficult as they get larger – many large trees are dug and moved with a special piece of equipment called a tree spade.

Hi. I have a privet hedge around my house and I need to replace a section of it. Do you carry privet shrubs that are bigger than the little twigs I’ve seen??

Sorry Rick, no privet here, finding large privet is going to be a challenge. my suppliers don’t have any – how about weston nsy or central nsy ? they may not stock them but could possibly special order them?

Hi there, we’ve got a shady spot in front of our house with a very sparse holly that we plan to take out. We’ve been looking hard at what to put there (that’s not a hosta or similar!). We heard some varieties of rhododendrons do well in shade…do you carry any varieties that fit this description? Thanks!

we do have some rhodies that do well in shade, we’ve got some dwarfs and some that get 10′ tall –
if you have a chance to come in and describe the planting space we could give you some suggestions.
      thanks for writing,
      Greg

I’m having trouble finding Viburnum carlesii anywhere in the area. Is there any chance you might get some soon?

I have a front yard with full sun and an in-ground sprinkler system. I have three boxwoods that do very well there. I have two tiny azaleas between them that I’ve given up on. What’s an alternative to the boxwood, for some variety? I’d like an evergreen, a nice foundation shrub that’s not going to grow up to be HUGE. Thank you.
